en.Wedoany.com Reported - Hyundai Motor America announced on July 8, 2026, a partnership with Chamberlain Group, a global leader in smart access solutions, to integrate myQ® connected garage technology into Hyundai's infotainment system. This collaboration enables owners to control their compatible myQ garage door openers directly through the vehicle's touchscreen, without the need for additional hardware or a mobile app.
Headquartered in Fountain Valley, California, Hyundai Motor America is the operational entity for Hyundai Motor Company's sales, service, and research and development in the U.S. Chamberlain Group, based in Oak Brook, Illinois, is a global leader in smart access solutions, and its myQ platform is one of the world's largest smart garage access ecosystems, connecting millions of users.
Through the vehicle's touchscreen, owners can remotely check and control the open/close status of their garage door when approaching or leaving, and receive garage door status alerts—whether the vehicle is on or off, they can see if the garage door is open or closed. The feature also supports geofencing automation scenarios: when the vehicle enters a geofenced area, the system can automatically trigger the garage door to open or close. All myQ functions are integrated into Hyundai's center screen with no subscription fee required.
The first models equipped with this technology are the 2027 Hyundai Palisade and the 2027 Hyundai IONIQ 9, with plans to gradually expand to more Hyundai models. Owners can pair their myQ account with the vehicle through the Bluelink app, with the setup process taking just a few minutes.
Sung Koo, Senior Director of Product Planning at Hyundai Motor America, stated that integrating myQ technology into Hyundai's infotainment system provides customers with a seamless and convenient smart home connectivity experience, further enriching Hyundai's connected ecosystem. Jim Lichtenstein, Vice President of Business Development at Chamberlain Group, noted that direct integration with automakers represents the next frontier in the convergence of smart homes and mobility, and this partnership allows the myQ platform to serve Hyundai owners more broadly.
This partnership marks the first time the myQ platform has entered the automotive sector as a native in-vehicle integration, rather than through a mobile app or third-party accessory. Through this collaboration, Hyundai further expands its smart connected service ecosystem, extending the vehicle from a mere mode of transportation to a mobile control node for the smart home.
