en.Wedoany.com Reported - In the first half of 2026, the Port of HaminaKotka handled a total of 6.31 million tons of cargo, down 11.4% compared to the same period in 2025.

From January to June, the port's total export volume reached 4.3 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 14.0%. Export volumes of dry bulk, liquid bulk, sawn timber, wood pulp, paper, and general cargo all declined, with only "other cargo" recording a 17.9% increase.
On the import side, the total volume for the first half of the year was 2.01 million tons, down 5.3% year-on-year. Among these, dry bulk imports increased by 14.9%, while liquid bulk remained largely flat with a slight increase of 1.2%. However, reductions in imports of logs and general cargo offset these gains. Imports of other cargo surged by 31.4%.
Container throughput reached 327,379 TEU in the first half of the year, a slight decrease of 1.0% compared to the same period in 2025. The port also handled 1.22 million tons of transit cargo, down 28.1% year-on-year, while coastal shipping volumes increased by 65.4% to 32,326 tons.
In June alone, the Port of HaminaKotka handled 1.01 million tons of cargo, including 665,273 tons of exports and 349,567 tons of imports. Container throughput for the month was 56,706 TEU, with 165 vessels calling at the port.
Data for the first half of the year shows that while volumes in several key commodity categories declined, container shipping remained relatively stable, and imports of dry bulk and other cargo continued their growth trend.
