On July 7, 2026, the unit was successfully started up, with all technical indicators meeting design standards. The electrolyzer's power consumption has reached an advanced level in the industry, and the purity of the produced hydrogen meets requirements, marking significant progress for CNPC in the autonomous and engineering development of green hydrogen.
This large-scale hydrogen production unit was jointly developed through collaborative research by CNPC Shenzhen New Energy Research Institute Co., Ltd., Dushanzi Petrochemical Company, Xinjiang Huanqiu Engineering Company, Kunlun Digital Intelligence Technology Co., Ltd., Baoji Petroleum Machinery Co., Ltd., and other entities. It is CNPC's first self-developed and manufactured large-scale alkaline water electrolysis hydrogen production complete set of equipment. Its DC power consumption performance ranks among the advanced tier in the industry, capable of meeting high-end hydrogen demands in multiple fields such as refining hydrogenation, hydrogen energy transportation, and chemical synthesis.
The hydrogen production system strictly adheres to the highest safety, environmental, and quality standards of the petrochemical industry. Rigorous control is implemented throughout the entire process, from process design and equipment manufacturing to installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance. This ensures adaptability to the complex operating conditions of the petrochemical sector and enables long-term, continuous, and stable operation.
