China's Oriental Yuhong Wins Second Prize of 2025 National Science and Technology Progress Award

The 2025 National Science and Technology Award Conference was held on July 8, 2026, officially announcing the winners of the National Science and Technology Awards.
This year's National Science and Technology Awards recognized a total of 258 projects and 11 scientific and technological experts, including 2 recipients of the State Preeminent Science and Technology Award, 51 projects for the National Natural Science Award (3 first prizes, 48 second prizes), 58 projects for the National Technological Invention Award (3 first prizes, 55 second prizes), 149 projects for the National Science and Technology Progress Award (3 special prizes, 13 first prizes, 133 second prizes), and 9 recipients of the People's Republic of China International Science and Technology Cooperation Award.
The main completers of the "Key Technologies and Applications for Low-Carbon, High-Quality Recycling and Remanufacturing of Plastic Waste" project include Wang Qi, Li Jianjun, Lu Canhui, Bai Shibing, Zhang Chuhong, Chen Ning, Yang Shuangqiao, Liu Jinjing, Ding Jiansheng, and Zhang Xinxing; the main completing units are Sichuan University, Kingfa Science and Technology Co., Ltd., Beijing Oriental Yuhong Waterproof Technology Co., Ltd., Nanjing Jufeng New Materials Co., Ltd., Sichuan Jinmoer Environmental Protection New Materials Co., Ltd., Jiangxi Green Recycling Industry Co., Ltd., and Sichuan Difei Electrical Technology Co., Ltd.
Driven by China's "dual carbon" strategy and circular economy policies, the low-carbon, high-quality recycling and utilization of plastic waste has become a global scientific and governance challenge, as well as a major strategic need for China to build a green, low-carbon, and circular development system and ensure resource security.
This project has overcome key technologies for the low-carbon, high-quality recycling and remanufacturing of all categories of plastic waste in a polymer state, establishing a complete industrial chain from technology research and development to industrial application.
