en.Wedoany.com Reported - AR Racking has begun installing storage solutions at the distribution center under construction for JYSK in Almenara (Castellón).

The design, manufacturing, and installation of this warehouse system are all handled by AR Racking. The solution includes two large self-supporting warehouses capable of holding 182,500 pallet positions, managed by 20 stacker cranes. The project utilizes a self-supporting rack structure, where the racks themselves bear the building load, serving both storage and structural support functions. AR Racking previously provided a similar solution with a capacity of 110,900 pallet positions for the JYSK distribution center project near Timișoara, Romania.

Covering an area of 274,000 square meters, the project will also house JYSK's new headquarters for Spain and Portugal in addition to the distribution center. The logistics hub is expected to become operational between 2027 and 2028, creating approximately 250 jobs. AR Racking was selected as the warehouse system supplier for this project in May 2025. The material flow system will be implemented by technology provider KÖRBER, utilizing an automated system to ensure synchronization and traceability of logistics processes.

JYSK's business expansion in Spain and Portugal has driven the construction of this distribution center. As a Spanish manufacturer of storage equipment, AR Racking's pallet racking solutions hold a significant market share in Spain and Southern Europe. Once completed, this distribution center will become a key logistics hub for JYSK on the Iberian Peninsula, supporting the supply of its retail network in Spain and Portugal.
