Headquartered in Chandler's Ford, Hampshire, Sweetbriar has been operating since 2004, serving clients across England and Wales. This acquisition expands Complii's water compliance capabilities, which are part of its building safety and regulatory compliance platform.

Complii stated that the transaction aligns with its strategic goal of creating an end-to-end compliance partner for building owners and managers, covering areas such as water, air, fire, electrical, lifts, and escalators.

Sweetbriar's services include Legionella risk assessments, water hygiene services, water treatment, chlorination disinfection, water sampling, pumping systems, drainage, and closed system water treatment. The acquisition adds technical expertise in water hygiene and Legionella control to Complii, areas that are central to building safety and facility compliance.

The UK Health and Safety Executive notes that employers and premises controllers must assess and manage the risk of Legionella in water systems. This makes qualified water hygiene management particularly important for sectors such as healthcare, education, hospitality, social housing, manufacturing, and commercial real estate.

Complii CEO Sarah Dixon stated that Sweetbriar is a business built on technical expertise and commitment to clients, and its team's experience in water hygiene and Legionella control strengthens the water business. Dixon welcomed Matthew, Seb, and the Sweetbriar team to the group.

Complii noted that Sweetbriar has built a strong reputation for high-quality, service-oriented water compliance. The business will operate as part of a larger compliance group while continuing to serve clients across England and Wales.

Seb Gray, the new Managing Director of Sweetbriar Limited, said that joining Complii provides Sweetbriar with additional resources and reach while continuing to deliver the service standards clients expect. Gray noted that the shared focus on compliance and quality made Complii a natural partner.

This acquisition is one of several recent transactions by Complii, including Celtic Fire Security, Classic Lifts (Scotland) Limited, The Escalator Company, Parr Fire Protection Services, and Tay Fire and Security. Complii stated that its "buy and build" strategy aims to create a broader building compliance platform for clients seeking consistent services across risk areas.
