en.Wedoany.com Reported - At the 51st International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva, the "CO₂ Transcritical Cycle Integrated Energy Storage Technology," led by the Institute of Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IMECH), with deep participation from the Shanxi Branch of China Energy Engineering Group Co., Ltd. (CEEC), stood out from over a thousand exhibiting projects worldwide and won a gold award.

Centered on the transcritical cycle of carbon dioxide, this technology constructs an integrated system of "three-in-one" energy—cold, heat, and electricity—for generation, storage, and supply, significantly improving energy utilization efficiency on the user side. It also aligns with the global environmental trend of phasing out refrigerants with high global warming potential. This system provides an economically viable and sustainable "Chinese solution" for building a new-type power system.

The International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva is one of the oldest and largest invention exhibitions in the world, co-organized by the Swiss Federal Government, the Canton of Geneva, and the World Intellectual Property Organization. Its evaluation criteria cover dimensions such as innovation, technical level, market prospects, and industrial and social contributions.

CEEC plans to further deepen industry-university-research collaborative innovation, focusing on the industrial layout of "energy conservation and emission reduction + new energy storage," to promote the application of CO₂ energy storage technology on a broader scale and at a deeper level, serving China's "dual carbon" strategy.
