en.Wedoany.com Reported - Zacatecas Silver Corp. announced the completion of Phase 2 rock chip sampling and vein mapping at its Oso Negro project in Sonora, Mexico. The project was completed in the first week of July 2026, with samples cut and sent to ALS Laboratories for gold, silver, and base metal analysis.

Prior to Phase 2 exploration, Phase 1 returned results of up to 14.8 g/t gold and 2,340 g/t silver from 156 samples. This phase of geological mapping identified additional vein extensions within the low-sulfidation epithermal systems of the Prospecto and Tere veins. The Prospecto vein system now has a mapped strike length exceeding 2.5 kilometers, while the Tere vein consists of approximately 0.5 kilometers of mapped vein. Exploration crews collected 391 rock chip samples from vein outcrops of both systems. Vein widths reach up to 3 meters, exhibiting multi-stage characteristics, with common vein breccias and extensive iron oxides formed from sulfide oxidation. The focus of this phase was to refine targets for planned inclined diamond drilling. The company has identified 20 drill platform locations and completed ecological studies as prerequisites for applying for a drilling permit from the Mexican Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources. The company will provide an update on the drilling program shortly.

Rock chip samples include extensively silicified and oxidized tuff with abundant hematite and goethite fracture fillings; hematite-stained, multi-stage quartz veins with extensive boxwork hematite and goethite from sulfide oxidation; and saccharoidal quartz with spotty iron oxides. Also present are multi-stage, dark gray sulfide-bearing quartz veins with silicified tuff fragments and hematite-goethite fracture fillings; and massive, dark gray sulfide-bearing quartz veins with pyrite spots, void-filling iron oxide boxworks from sulfide oxidation, and local hematite-goethite bands. These vein textures are typical of the uppermost levels of low-sulfidation epithermal systems, where precious metal mineralization is often preserved in association with deeper boiling zones. Phase 1 sampling confirmed high gold and silver grades in outcrop vein samples, while the Phase 2 program confirmed the presence of extensive sulfide-bearing quartz veins, significant for exploration drilling. Subsequent drilling will focus on targeting near-surface depth extensions through numerous shallow inclined holes.

Zacatecas Silver is a multi-asset precious metals exploration company with a portfolio of six projects in Mexico, spanning the states of Zacatecas, Sonora, Morelos, and Oaxaca. The company's projects in Zacatecas are located within the Fresnillo Silver Belt, which has produced over 6.2 billion ounces of silver. The company holds 7,826 hectares of land with potential for low- and intermediate-sulfidation silver-base metal mineralization. The mineral resource estimate for the Panuco deposit includes 3.41 million tonnes at 187 g/t silver equivalent, totaling 20.5 million ounces of silver equivalent. The property is located 25 kilometers southeast of MAG Silver's Juanicipio mine and Fresnillo PLC's Fresnillo mine, and is adjacent to properties held by Defiance Silver and Endeavour Silver. The Esperanza project in Morelos, Mexico, has a mineral resource estimate including indicated resources: 45.4 million tonnes at 0.79 g/t gold equivalent (0.76 g/t gold and 8.5 g/t silver), totaling 1.15 million ounces of gold equivalent (1.11 million ounces of gold and 12.37 million ounces of silver); and inferred resources: 11.2 million tonnes at 0.57 g/t gold equivalent (0.53 g/t gold and 11.2 g/t silver), totaling 208,000 ounces of gold equivalent (190,000 ounces of gold and 4.02 million ounces of silver). The company also holds four exploration properties in Sonora and Oaxaca, including the Oso Negro, Cumaro, La Lola, and Ejutla projects.
