en.Wedoany.com Reported - Aura Minerals announced preliminary production results for the second quarter of 2026, during which its six operating mines produced 75,437 ounces of gold equivalent (GEO) at current prices, down 8% quarter-over-quarter but up 18% compared to the same period in 2025. Sales during the period reached 77,764 GEO, with total production in the first half of 2026 amounting to 157,574 GEO, setting a new company record for the period.

Aura Minerals CEO and President Rodrigo Barbosa stated that quarterly production met expectations and the company maintains its annual outlook. He noted that ongoing strategic projects will drive growth in the coming years. Barbosa said that second-quarter production contributed to the record first-half performance, and although it declined quarter-over-quarter, it remains on track to meet full-year guidance. Growth projects will enable Aura to achieve annual production exceeding 600,000 GEO in the coming years.

The company reported that production growth was driven by improved performance at the Almas mine, the start of commercial production at the Borborema mine, and the inclusion of Mineração Serra Grande (MSG). Total sales in the first six months of 2026 reached 159,129 GEO, up 29% compared to the same period in 2025. Production over the past 12 months totaled 313,868 GEO, an increase of 21% year-over-year.

In terms of individual mine production, Aranzazu produced 17,882 GEO, benefiting from higher copper prices and adjustments to the mining plan sequence. Almas produced 16,130 GEO, attributed to increased processing capacity at the plant. Borborema produced 14,251 GEO, and Minosa produced 14,284 GEO. Apoena produced 5,704 GEO, while MSG produced 7,186 GEO in the quarter, with these results primarily affected by the mining plan and expected lower ore grades during the period.

Aura Minerals stated that the company is actively advancing multiple growth initiatives, including infrastructure investments at MSG, the Era Dorada project construction, expansion of the Almas plant, advancement of the Apoena open-pit mine, Borborema expansion studies, and exploration work at Matupá and Serra da Estrela, with the goal of achieving annual production exceeding 600,000 GEO in the future.
