en.Wedoany.com Reported - Italy's Adriatic LNG recently announced the launch of an open season for LNG regasification capacity, offering available capacity from January 2029 to December 2051.

The open season is divided into two phases. The non-binding phase runs from July 9 to September 14, allowing interested operators to undergo qualification. The binding phase is expected to begin on September 17 and end on September 30.
In terms of capacity allocation, Adriatic LNG offers approximately 4 billion cubic meters (4 bcm) of regasification capacity from 2029 to 2034, and about 146 billion cubic meters (146 bcm) from 2035 to 2051.
Adriatic LNG's authorized maximum regasification capacity is 10.4 billion cubic meters per year (10.4 bcm/y), of which 9.5 billion cubic meters per year (9.5 Bcm/y) is firm capacity and 0.9 billion cubic meters per year (0.9 Bcm/y) is interruptible capacity.
In 2025, the terminal injected 8.2 billion cubic meters (8.2 bcm) of natural gas into Italy's grid, accounting for over 13% of the country's natural gas demand. That same year, the terminal received 71 LNG carriers, primarily from Qatar, the United States, and regions in North Africa and South America, most of which were Q-Flex vessels.
Deliveries from Qatar have been affected by the ongoing crisis in the Middle East. Last month, Italian energy company Edison (a subsidiary of Électricité de France) stated that it had received a new force majeure notice from state-owned LNG giant QatarEnergy, impacting supplies originally scheduled for delivery at the Adriatic LNG terminal through early September. Edison said that due to force majeure, a total of 21 LNG cargoes were affected during the delivery period from April to early September 2026, involving approximately 2.7 billion cubic meters (2.7 bcm) of natural gas.
