en.Wedoany.com Reported - Canadian Copper (CSE: CCI) has submitted the Environmental Impact Assessment registration document for its Murray Brook deposit to the New Brunswick Department of Environment and Local Government.

The company stated that the registration document will be available on the government website for public review and comment, inviting feedback from Indigenous communities, stakeholders, and the public.
Murray Brook is Canadian Copper's flagship project in the Bathurst mining camp. The mine is currently at an advanced exploration stage, with pre-development stripping work completed. According to a 2013 preliminary economic assessment, the mine is expected to have a lifespan of over ten years.
CEO Simon Quick noted that among domestic mining operations in Canada, this project is one of the few near-term development critical minerals projects with visible production prospects, coupled with a strong balance sheet and project financing. The goal is to make the environmental assessment review process comprehensive and ensure that the restart plan is well understood and supported locally.
Chief Terry Richardson of the Pabineau First Nation expressed anticipation for collaboration with the company, stating that economic development in the region represents an opportunity for economic reconciliation and driving economic growth in northern New Brunswick.
In addition to collecting public feedback, the Environmental Assessment registration document will be reviewed by a technical review committee formed by the New Brunswick government. The committee may request additional project information, clarifications, or further technical studies.
A decision on the Environmental Impact Assessment will be issued following the conclusion of the technical review process.
Canadian Copper plans to host an event on July 29, 2026, in Bathurst, New Brunswick, to discuss the project.
