en.Wedoany.com Reported - The 7th International Mineral Flotation Conference (Flotación 2026) will be held on August 20-21 at the Sheraton Lima Hotel in Peru, bringing together experts from global mining companies and engineering fields to exchange technical insights on improving efficiency and operational optimization of mineral flotation processes.

Mineral flotation is a key process in mining operations for recovering metals and improving the operational efficiency of concentrator plants. Against the backdrop of current efforts by companies to optimize processes, enhance recovery rates, and meet higher operational demands, the exchange of technical experience has become a core factor in industry competitiveness. Organized by InterMet and chaired by Karim Batallanos, General Manager of Glencore Antapaccay, the conference aims to promote the exchange of knowledge, technical experience, best practices, and innovative achievements.

One of the highlights of the conference is the presentation of mining technical cases by experts from major regional operating companies. Santiago Honores, Senior Metallurgist for Copper-Molybdenum Flotation at Codelco, will discuss "The Impact of Froth Rheology on Clay Control." Limdbergh Ruben Capcha Milla, Technical Coordinator at Sociedad Minera Cerro Verde, will present "Operational Excellence in Maximizing Copper-Molybdenum Mineral Recovery at Marginal Molybdenum Grades." Hernán Guerrero, Chief Metallurgist at Minera Las Bambas, will elaborate on "Copper Production Model at Las Bambas, Peru." Marcelo Rodríguez, Manager of Metallurgy and Process Control at Compañía Minera Doña Inés de Collahuasi SCM, will share technical experience related to inventory management and mining process recovery.

Additionally, international representatives from Chile, Australia, Canada, China, and Mexico will participate in the agenda, broadening the technical perspective on current mineral flotation challenges and understanding application experiences in different mining environments. It is expected that representatives from over 30 top-tier concentrator plants, projects, and suppliers, including Cerro Verde, Las Bambas, Minera Bateas, Hudbay, Collahuasi, Marcobre, Chinalco, Minsur, Volcán, and Antapaccay, will attend.

The previous edition, Flotación 2025, brought together over 450 experts from 19 countries, including Peru, Chile, Mexico, Finland, the United States, Brazil, the Netherlands, Colombia, Argentina, Ecuador, Zambia, Kazakhstan, Australia, Switzerland, Morocco, China, Canada, and South Africa.
