en.Wedoany.com Reported - At 12:20 on July 12, with the final degassing hopper smoothly and precisely landed on the top floor of the framework, the hoisting operation of 12 degassing hoppers for the 300,000 t/yr high-pressure low-density polyethylene (LDPE) unit of the Dushanzi Petrochemical Tarim 1.2 million t/yr Phase II Ethylene Project, undertaken by the consortium of our company and Daqing Petrochemical Engineering Co., Ltd., was successfully completed, with all hoppers installed in one go and passing acceptance inspection on the first attempt.

The degassing hopper is the core equipment of the powder storage system for the high-pressure low-density polyethylene unit, directly affecting the unit's subsequent continuous and stable operation. Each hopper hoisted this time is approximately 30 meters high and weighs 25 tons, featuring an aluminum-magnesium alloy thin-wall structure. The hoisting process involved complex procedures such as cross-bridge transportation and dual-crane lifting at height. The project team adopted a dual-crane lifting scheme using 600-ton and 220-ton cranes, completing the precise installation of all 12 units in just 3 days, laying the foundation for subsequent installation and scheduled commissioning.

The Tarim 1.2 million t/yr Phase II Ethylene Project includes two 450,000 t/yr full-density polyethylene units and one 300,000 t/yr high-pressure low-density polyethylene unit. The project achieved mechanical completion of the main structures in May 2026 and is expected to be fully commissioned soon. During the preliminary preparation and approval phase, the project was officially included in the National Petrochemical Industry Development Plan and Layout Plan in July 2023 and received approval from the autonomous region. On August 7 of the same year, a construction promotion meeting was held, marking the full transition to the construction phase. During the full-scale construction period, the construction team faced the extreme environment of the Gobi Desert and adopted innovative approaches such as localized manufacturing using "mobile factories," factory-based prefabrication of pipelines, and comprehensive soil-free management. By the end of March 2024, the oversized equipment manufacturing plant was put into use on schedule, and the large-component transportation road was fully opened on August 15. After the main project successfully achieved mechanical completion on May 21, 2026, the project entered the production preparation phase. In late June 2026, the ethylene unit began addressing remaining items and preparing for trial operation, entering the final sprint phase for commissioning.
