en.Wedoany.com Reported - Kazakhmys has added a new Paus MinCa 18 multifunctional underground mining truck to its copper mine assets in the Ulytau Region, for personnel transport, material haulage, and auxiliary underground production operations.

Miners repeatedly raised the need for modern underground transport vehicles during meetings with management. The proposal was eventually incorporated into the material and technical base modernization plan.

The vehicle can carry up to 16 personnel while transporting up to 4 tons of cargo. The company expects this to improve the speed of delivering personnel and materials to the working face.

The MinCa 18 features a modular design, with the manufacturer developing various functional modules for different tasks, thereby reducing reliance on specialized equipment. The new vehicle is equipped with a suspension damping system that significantly reduces vibration when traveling on uneven roads, improving ride comfort for both the driver and passengers.

The company plans to purchase another vehicle of the same series by the end of 2026. The total procurement cost for both units is approximately 400 million Kazakhstani tenge.

According to previous reports from Kazakhmys, the Zhylandy mine is undergoing modernization to expand copper production. The mine currently produces about 2.7 million tons of ore annually, with capacity expected to increase to 3.6 million tons by 2027, and annual ore output exceeding 6 million tons by 2030.
