en.Wedoany.com Reported - Alcoa Corporation reported second-quarter revenue of $4.0 billion, up 24% from the previous quarter, with net income of $407 million.
Adjusted net income was $562 million, up 51% sequentially; adjusted EBITDA (excluding special items) also rose 51% to $901 million. The company attributed the growth in adjusted EBITDA primarily to higher aluminum prices and increased shipments during the quarter.
Aluminum production reached 636,000 metric tons, up 5% sequentially, driven mainly by the restart of the San Ciprián smelter and progress at facilities in Brazil, Norway, and Australia. Alumina production was 2.2 million metric tons, down 6% sequentially, primarily due to unstable natural gas supply and interruptions at the Pinjarra refinery. Bauxite production fell to 8.3 million metric tons in the second quarter from 9.1 million metric tons in the prior quarter.
Aluminum shipments increased 18% sequentially, supported by inventory redistribution in North America and higher production; third-party alumina shipments were 1.6 million metric tons, roughly flat compared to the previous period. Third-party sales of aluminum products rose 31%, driven by higher shipment volumes, growth in value-added product sales, and higher aluminum prices.
Alcoa maintained its 2026 forecast for aluminum production of 2.4 to 2.6 million metric tons and shipments of 2.6 to 2.8 million metric tons.
