en.Wedoany.com Reported - The Sustainable Mining Research Center (CIMS, Centro de Investigación en Minería Sustentable), a subsidiary of Chile's JRI Group, has inaugurated a new chemical and mechanical preparation laboratory. This facility aims to advance experimental research and create innovative solutions for the mining industry.

This initiative significantly enhances the center's analytical and experimental capabilities, enabling the integration of sample preparation, chemical analysis, and metallurgical and hydrometallurgical testing within a single facility. As a result, process traceability is optimized, response times are shortened, and quality control at each stage of experimental work is improved. CIMS noted that the new laboratory is equipped with specialized equipment for mechanical sample preparation and chemical analysis, complementing the center's existing capabilities and strengthening its capacity to conduct more complex metallurgical research.
The new infrastructure was designed in accordance with the quality system established under the ISO/IEC 17025 standard, reaffirming the center's commitment to technical excellence and result reliability. With this addition, CIMS consolidates a more integrated service offering, enhances operational autonomy, and reinforces its goal of contributing to more sustainable mining development through applied research and technological innovation.
