en.Wedoany.com Reported - India's power distribution company MSEDCL has commissioned the district's first 4 MW solar park in Nagpur district. The facility was officially inaugurated on July 16 at the Kachari Sawanga substation in the Katol taluka area, under the Maharashtra's Chief Minister Solar Agricultural Feeder 2.0 scheme. MSEDCL provided the land through a 25-year lease and signed a power purchase agreement with the developer, with the tariff set at below INR 3 per kWh (approximately $0.03). The facility will provide eight hours of uninterrupted daytime power supply to 1,074 agricultural consumers across nine villages.

According to local officials, the investment for the 4 MW facility is estimated at around INR 10 to 12 crore (approximately $1 million to $1.2 million).
The villages served by this solar park include Ridhora, Khapri Kutumba, Ghartwada, Gujar Khedi, Sabkund, Kokarda, Kachari Sawanga, Borkhedi, and Panchdhar. The project's location near the substation helps reduce transmission losses and ensures supply reliability. This 4 MW solar park is a concrete implementation under the framework of Maharashtra's Chief Minister Solar Agricultural Feeder 2.0 scheme, which is described as Asia's largest distributed solar project.
Several similar solar parks are currently under development in Nagpur district, which will benefit more agricultural consumers upon completion. The grid connection of this 4 MW solar park provides a stable clean energy solution for local agricultural irrigation.
