China's First Provincial-Level Solid-State Transformer Industry Alliance Established in Jiangsu
en.Wedoany.com Reported - Jiangsu Province Solid-State Transformer Industry Alliance was inaugurated in Changzhou on July 18, marking the first provincial-level alliance of its kind in China. The conference, guided by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology and hosted by the Changzhou Municipal People's Government, brought together nearly 400 participants, including academicians, experts, government and enterprise representatives, universities, and industry chain enterprises. During the meeting, the "Jiangsu Province Solid-State Transformer Industry Innovation Development Action Plan" was released. Trina Solar Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Trina Solar") officially joined the alliance and was elected as a vice-chairman unit.

Solid-state transformers (SST) are positioned as strategic frontier power equipment supporting new power systems and adapting to AI computing infrastructure. They have been included in the national key promotion catalog for energy-saving power equipment. Industry institutions predict that by 2030, the global full-scenario market size could exceed 1.2 trillion yuan, with the AI data center segment having a long-term potential of nearly 200 billion yuan. The alliance brings together 78 member units within the province, including leading SST manufacturers, upstream and downstream component suppliers, power universities and research institutes, grid operators, and AI data center application units, forming a collaborative ecosystem of "government, industry, academia, research, and application." The alliance will focus on joint efforts to address shortcomings in core materials, power devices, and complete systems, accelerating technology implementation and standard development.
Trina Solar's election as a vice-chairman unit of the alliance marks significant progress in the company's computing-power synergy track and AI data center (AIDC) full-scenario energy infrastructure solutions. Gao Jifan, Chairman of Trina Solar, stated that the company is advancing toward large-scale implementation in computing-power synergy and zero-carbon industrial park scenarios, striving to become a leader in the smart energy and computing-power synergy industry. Leveraging Changzhou's transformer industry foundation and the advantages of the new energy industry chain, Trina Solar will use the alliance as a collaborative platform and AIDC application demands as innovation drivers. It will integrate its capabilities in photovoltaics, grid-forming energy storage, system solutions, project development, and global delivery into the alliance framework. Together with industry chain partners, Trina Solar will tackle key challenges in SST core materials, critical components, complete systems, and scenario applications, driving technology from R&D and validation to demonstration and large-scale deployment.
