en.Wedoany.com Reported - BNZ (an independent power producer under Nuveen Infrastructure) has signed a strategic agreement with Sungrow to supply a total of 240 MWh of energy storage systems for two photovoltaic projects in the province of Viterbo, Lazio region, Italy—Rinaldone (45 MW) and Camposcala (53 MW). This agreement is part of a global framework deal between Sungrow and Nuveen Infrastructure, aimed at deploying energy storage systems across its European portfolio.

These two solar power plants, operational since 2025 with a total installed capacity of 98 MW, will achieve solar-plus-storage hybrid operation through the battery energy storage system (BESS) provided by Sungrow. The contract covers the comprehensive supply of batteries, power conversion systems (PCS), medium-voltage equipment, commissioning services, acceptance tests, technical training, and an energy management system (EMS) developed by a third party.

The agreement also includes a long-term service agreement (LTSA), covering extended warranties for major components, preventive maintenance, permanent remote monitoring, and guarantees on system availability, performance, and efficiency. Such clauses are increasingly common in energy storage contracts, aiming to reduce operational risks during the asset's service life.

BNZ plans to develop 850 MW of energy storage projects in Europe, of which 530 MW are already at various stages of development. Italy will be one of the first markets where the company implements this strategy, with approximately 1 GWh of storage capacity distributed across eight projects, primarily in the Lazio, Sicily, and Apulia regions.
