en.Wedoany.com Reported - The Yibin Urban Sports and Cultural Complex, constructed by China Railway No.4 Engineering Group (CREC-4), was officially completed and put into use recently. As one of the core competition venues for the 15th Sichuan Provincial Games, it is currently the largest and highest-standard sports and cultural complex in southern Sichuan. In the future, it will be capable of hosting international individual events and national comprehensive competitions, while also meeting the daily sports and cultural activity needs of citizens.

Located in the Gaoxin South District of Yibin City, the Yibin Urban Sports and Cultural Complex has a total construction area of approximately 180,000 square meters. The design preserves the original low hills and lake landforms, with the building complex arranged around the lake and connected to the surrounding environment via urban greenways, creating an urban public space where natural ecology and cultural landscapes blend. Internal facilities include a Class A stadium with 15,000 seats, a Class B natatorium with 3,000 seats, a national fitness center, and a lakeside park covering 292 mu (approximately 19.5 hectares). CREC-4 was primarily responsible for the construction of the Class A super-large stadium, covering the competition area, training hall, management rooms, and traffic zones.

As a large-scale comprehensive sports venue project, construction faced challenges such as large scale, extensive cross-operations, and high technical difficulty. The CREC-4 project team, in collaboration with the owner and participating units, established the "Craftsmanship Pioneer" party-building brand. Through joint party-building efforts and a "party members taking the lead" mechanism, a multi-party collaborative tackling system was formed. Regular progress assessments and increased resource investment ensured efficient coordination. In terms of safety and quality, a full-staff safety responsibility system was established, including training, inspections, and emergency drills. Strict adherence to national building engineering quality acceptance standards was maintained, along with enhanced green construction inspections, ensuring controllable safety, quality, and environmental protection throughout the process. The project was successively awarded the titles of "Green Construction Site" and "Safety Standardized Construction Site" in Yibin City.

To address the positioning challenge of the 98.3-meter super-span bidirectional orthogonal fish-belly truss, the project team, after multiple rounds of technical demonstration and simulation, adopted a parallel construction method combining "local high-altitude scattered assembly, overall roof sliding, and high-altitude segmented hoisting." By precisely calculating hoisting reference points, the giant steel roof, weighing 5,600 tons, was divided into 13 standardized sliding units. These were processed in sections and slid synchronously to achieve high-precision positioning, reducing the overall construction period by 30 days compared to conventional methods, ensuring timely delivery.

In terms of venue hardware, the project team benchmarked against international top-tier competition standards to meet high-definition television broadcast requirements. The lighting system uses LED professional floodlights and DMX intelligent dimming control, allowing flexible switching of lighting modes for different scenarios such as professional competitions, cultural performances, and large gatherings. The center-hung display at the top of the venue, end screens, and circular large screens are synchronized in signal, complemented by professional line array speakers, creating an immersive audio-visual experience.

The Yibin Urban Sports and Cultural Complex will be developed into a multi-functional space integrating competitions, performances, fitness, culture, and leisure. By hosting international individual events in indoor disciplines such as floor exercise, basketball, volleyball, badminton, and martial arts, as well as youth competitions at various levels and mass sports activities, it will help enhance Yibin's urban influence and promote the development of local sports and cultural undertakings.
