en.Wedoany.com Reported - Erova and Elgin have signed multiple long-term Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and balancing service agreements to cover Elgin's 112.6 MW solar project portfolio developed in the UK.

The portfolio comprises three projects, all of which were awarded contracts in the UK's sixth round of Contracts for Difference (CfD) auctions: the Thorpe project (61.9 MW) in Staffordshire, the Aston Flamville project (26.2 MW) in Leicestershire, and the Maes Mawr project (24.5 MW) in Glamorgan, Wales. The entire portfolio is now under construction and is expected to supply electricity to approximately 24,000 UK households once completed.

Under a 15-year agreement, Erova will provide market access, power trading, and balancing services for the portfolio, ensuring efficient delivery of renewable electricity into the grid during the contract period. Since being acquired by Macquarie Group in 2025, Erova has enhanced its PPA business capabilities, such as participating in larger-scale tenders and supporting longer-term contracts.

These agreements are a key step in advancing the portfolio toward operation, following the commencement of construction and secured financing to support the delivery of Elgin's overall project pipeline in the UK.

Dermot Kelleher, CEO of Elgin, stated that establishing a solid market access partnership is fundamental to achieving a reliable, low-carbon electricity supply in the long term. Beyond the already secured construction permits, financing, and CfD contracts, these agreements with Erova are a crucial link in moving the projects from development to long-term operation. He looks forward to collaborating with Erova to contribute to the UK's energy transition as the projects gradually come online.

Nick Williams, CEO of Erova, said these agreements demonstrate Erova's ability to support large-scale UK renewable energy projects through flexible long-term PPAs and risk management solutions. As solar power generation continues to scale up, the importance of market optimization becomes increasingly evident. Its trading platform can actively manage negative price periods while capturing intraday trading opportunities, thereby optimizing asset value throughout the project lifecycle. Erova is pleased to apply this approach to Elgin's portfolio and help these projects smoothly transition into long-term operation.
