The newly completed phases add approximately 500 megawatts of solar generation capacity. As planned, once the Rockhound complex is fully built out, its combined solar and storage capacity will exceed 2 gigawatts by 2029.
The Rockhound complex includes the previously announced and operational Swift Air Solar facility, which was developed to meet global corporate customer demand and has secured long-term power purchase agreements with Meta, Occidental, dsm-firmenich, and Bekaert.
Vikas Anand, CEO of Origis Energy, stated that this milestone reflects the company's continued ability to execute projects at scale, achieving nearly 1 gigawatt of operational capacity in Ector County and demonstrating platform advantages, depth of customer demand, and the capability to safely, efficiently, and on schedule deliver complex multi-phase infrastructure projects.
The next phase of the Rockhound complex is planned at approximately 1 gigawatt, encompassing both solar and storage, and is currently being marketed toward data center co-location opportunities and long-term corporate offtake structures to address the ongoing demand from energy-intensive customers for reliable, scalable power solutions.
