The proposed highway will have a terminus at Patradevi, near Goa’s northern border, and is estimated to cost between $1.4 billion and $1.7 billion.

The bypass would let drivers avoid the tourist hotspot

The ring road will follow Goa’s eastern boundary to avoid passing through its central areas, aiming to reduce congestion on the existing national highway. Gadkari stated: “This bypass will decongest the national highway, improving travel efficiency for those moving between states.” The project is designed to enhance connectivity and streamline transportation, benefiting both local residents and tourists visiting the popular destination.

In addition to the ring road, Gadkari revealed plans for three road-widening projects in Goa, expanding existing roads to four lanes, and the construction of a new bridge at Borim.
