en.Wedoany.com Reported - During a severe storm in the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area (Amba), a partial collapse occurred at Pier 1 of the Exolgan terminal at Puerto Dock Sud. Exolgan stated that the collapse took place in a disused area of the dock and that no injuries were reported.
The company also confirmed that access for both laden and empty containers is currently operating normally, with no delays. Authorities are investigating the cause of the collapse and assessing the extent of the damage.
The collapse occurred as a severe storm swept through the region from Friday night, July 31, into the early hours and morning of Saturday, August 1. Accumulated rainfall exceeded 60 millimeters in the city of Buenos Aires and over 88 millimeters in surrounding areas, with some parts of the city recording more than 100 millimeters in less than 24 hours.
The rainfall also caused street flooding in several municipalities, including Avellaneda, Quilmes, Lanús, and La Plata. Exolgan said it will provide further information once the extent of the damage has been determined.
