en.Wedoany.com Reported - MPC Energy Solutions (MPCES) has signed an agreement to sell its last solar asset in Colombia—the Los Girasoles solar plant—with the transaction expected to close within the coming days. The buyer's identity and the economic terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

The Los Girasoles plant was one of the assets included when MPCES went public, developed and built by the company with an installed capacity of 12.3 MWp, and began operations in mid-2023. This sale is part of MPCES's overall divestment plan.

The project broke ground in January 2022 with an estimated investment of $11 million, located in Norte de Santander, designed to generate approximately 23 GWh annually, with engineering and construction handled by Colombian company Socolco.

The plant is equipped with more than 22,000 Trina Solar Vertex DEG19C.20 bifacial modules, each with a maximum power output of up to 550 Wp, and inverters supplied by Huawei.

In March 2023, MPCES announced that Los Girasoles had been completed and connected to the grid, with the electricity sold to Colombian power retailer Spectrum under a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA). The company at that time expected annual revenue of $1.3 million over the PPA's term.

Following the sale's completion, MPC Energy Solutions' remaining assets will include cash, the 15.8 MWp solar plant Los Santos Solar I in Mexico, and a 7% stake in a U.S. microgrid development company.
