en.Wedoany.com Reported - Rosseti Tyumen has completed a scheduled major overhaul of a double-circuit high-voltage transmission line in Yugra, Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug, with a total length of 122 kilometers, investing approximately 7.3 million rubles in the related technical works.

The line supplies electricity to over 14,000 local residents and serves the hydrocarbon extraction centers and supporting infrastructure of the Nizhnesortymskaya and Tyanskaya oil and gas field groups.

During the maintenance, workers replaced 77 polymer insulators with glass insulators manufactured in Russia. The new insulators offer higher dielectric performance and mechanical strength, as well as resistance to environmental factors such as ultraviolet radiation and moisture.

The project also included repairs to the foundations of six transmission towers and over 60 grounding circuits, along with the installation of 150 bird protection devices. As the line passes through hard-to-reach marshland, specialized equipment, including three amphibious all-terrain vehicles, was used for transporting personnel and materials.

This major overhaul is part of the preparations for the peak winter load in the Yugra power grid, primarily aimed at improving the reliability of power supply to residential consumers and oil and gas extraction infrastructure. Yugra is a major oil and gas producing region in Russia, where grid facilities must withstand operational pressures from low temperatures, marshy terrain, and long transmission distances.

The Rosseti Group plans to increase grid investment in the Yugra region to 13 billion rubles in 2026, with a focus on developing distribution networks and providing grid access for new industrial loads. As part of this effort, Rosseti Tyumen has commenced construction of a 110 kV substation and associated transmission lines to provide additional power supply capacity for the further development of the Ust-Balyk oil field in Western Siberia.
