This series integrates the power resistor with an optional embedded NTC temperature sensor in a single housing and supports customizable cable connections. Installation requires no board-level soldering, as the device is secured via self-aligning pressure, reducing component count, lowering wiring complexity, and accelerating plug-and-play integration into power modules. The device features a "cold system" substrate design that efficiently conducts heat to an external heatsink (not included), maintaining stable operation over a temperature range of -55 °C to +155 °C. With high power capability and a compact package, designers can increase system power density and reduce the number of parallel resistors required.

The RPWA 650 series covers a resistance range from 6.2 Ω to 1 MΩ, with tolerances down to ±5 %. The devices feature a maximum operating voltage of 6000 VDC, a dielectric strength of 7000 VRMS, and typical self-inductance of no more than 40 nH, enabling precise energy dissipation and suppression of transient overshoot in high-voltage and fast-switching circuits. Additionally, the series supports repetitive operation of up to 3.5 J per pulse at 50 μs pulse width, making it suitable for circuit functions such as precharge, discharge, active discharge, power conversion, and snubber applications. The devices are RoHS-compliant and are currently pending AEC-Q200 qualification. Target applications include systems operating in harsh environments across automotive, energy, industrial, medical, and avionics sectors.
