Haventus and Dajin Heavy Industry Sign MoU to Explore Offshore Wind Collaboration at Scotland's Ardersier Port

en.Wedoany.com Reported - Haventus, the owner and developer of Ardersier Port in Scotland, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Dajin Heavy Industry, a Chinese manufacturer of offshore wind foundation structures, to explore joint commercial opportunities in the UK and European offshore wind markets.

Under the agreement, the parties will assess the feasibility of utilizing Ardersier Port's facilities to support the storage, marshalling, assembly, and transportation of offshore wind components.Located on Scotland's east coast, Ardersier Port features extensive quay frontage, deep-water channels, and high-voltage power connections, capable of meeting the manufacturing, assembly, and storage needs of large-scale offshore wind structures.

Dajin Heavy Industry specializes in the manufacturing of fixed and floating offshore wind foundation structures and operates its own fleet of specialized transport vessels.The company has previously delivered foundation structures for several European offshore wind projects, including Hornsea 3 in the UK, and Moray West and Inch Cape in Scotland.

Mark Gillespie, Chief Commercial Officer at Haventus, stated that this MoU represents another important step in strengthening Ardersier Port's role in the offshore wind supply chain.Artur Pielech, Business Development Director at Dajin Heavy Industry, noted that the scale and location of Ardersier Port make it an ideal choice for bringing logistics capabilities closer to European offshore wind projects.

Ardersier Port was previously the planned site for a £1.5 billion wind turbine factory proposed by Mingyang Smart Energy, but the project was rejected by the UK government on security grounds.Dajin's cooperation intention does not involve wind turbine manufacturing, focusing instead on foundation structure fabrication and port logistics services.
