Barton Gold Hits 24-Meter Gold Zone at Tunkillia Project in Australia
en.Wedoany.com Reported - On August 31, Barton Gold Holdings released the latest assay results from the Phase 2 resource upgrade drilling at the Tunkillia gold-silver project in South Australia. Drill hole TKB0703 intersected a 24-meter gold mineralization zone from a depth of 47 meters, with an average gold grade of 4.51 g/t, including a 2-meter interval from 53 meters grading 16.7 g/t gold. The results announced this time come from infill drilling within the existing open-pit model of the project, with all drill lengths reported as down-hole lengths; true widths of mineralization have not yet been disclosed.

This batch of results focuses on the S1 and S2 starter pits within the Area 223 open-pit mine. Among them, TKB0678 intersected 11 meters grading 5.51 g/t gold from a depth of 14 meters, including 2 meters at 24.7 g/t; TKB0639 intersected 6 meters grading 6.61 g/t gold from a depth of 70 meters, including 1 meter at 32.4 g/t; TKB0681 intersected 7 meters grading 4.10 g/t gold from a depth of 65 meters. TKB0660 also returned a 20-meter mineralization zone grading 2.14 g/t gold, with 6 meters grading 5.13 g/t.
These drill holes are part of the approximately 39,000-meter reverse circulation drilling program for Phase 2 at Tunkillia. Barton Gold previously expanded the scope of Phase 2 drilling after infill drilling results indicated the potential for new higher-grade mineralization zones within the S1 and S2 pit areas. This round of drilling is primarily aimed at resource upgrade and grade control within the existing optimized open-pit mine, and will provide new resource model data for the pre-feasibility study currently underway.
Tunkillia currently hosts JORC mineral resources of approximately 1.6 million ounces of gold and 3.1 million ounces of silver, with the main resources concentrated in the Area 223 deposit. The optimized scoping study completed by Barton Gold in May 2025 adopted an open-pit mining and gravity separation + CIL processing plan with an annual throughput of 5 million tonnes of ore, modeling an annual production of approximately 120,000 ounces of gold and 250,000 ounces of silver. The project is currently undertaking more than 50,000 meters of development drilling to support resource upgrades and subsequent engineering studies.
The final batch of assay results from Phase 2 drilling is still pending release. Barton Gold plans to update the JORC mineral resources for gold and silver at Tunkillia once all results are received, and aims to complete the project's pre-feasibility study in the first quarter of 2027.
