ESAB Launches the 1500W Dueler EHL 1500 Handheld Laser Welder

en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 10, ESAB officially launched the Dueler EHL 1500 handheld laser welding system, the company's first laser welder. The device integrates a 1500W laser source, the PreciDrive wire feed system, and an operator interface into a single air-cooled unit, eliminating the need for an external water chiller. It is now available through ESAB authorized distributors and online channels.

The Dueler EHL 1500 offers adjustable laser output power from 150 to 1500W, a laser wavelength of 1080 nanometers, a oscillation width of 0.1 to 4 millimeters, and a oscillation frequency of 1 to 220Hz. It can process stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum, and certain coated and reflective alloys, with a maximum weld penetration of 6.5 millimeters. The device operates on a 230V single-phase AC input power supply with a rated capacity of 6kVA.

The overall dimensions are 1039 × 491 × 1014 millimeters, the weight is 105 kilograms, the welding torch weighs approximately 680 grams, and the torch and process fiber length is 5.6 meters. The device features an integrated air-cooled structure that houses the laser power supply, wire feed system, and control system in a single body, and is equipped with a gas cylinder rack, torch holder, cable management, and storage modules.

The wire feed section uses the ESAB PreciDrive system and can be configured with 0.8 mm, 1.0 mm, 1.2 mm, and 1.6 mm wire feed nozzles depending on the welding process. The control system supports both manual and synergic operating modes, allowing operators to set laser parameters themselves or call up preset process parameters for common metals.

ESAB disclosed that the system was developed for manufacturing scenarios including general fabrication, automotive, rail vehicles, HVAC, food and beverage equipment, surface cladding, and overlay. The device is managed as a Class 4 laser device and is equipped with interlock protection, laser welding protective face shields, and corresponding safety accessories.

The Dueler EHL 1500 extends ESAB's existing MIG, TIG, and filler material business into handheld laser welding equipment. ESAB also plans to hold a technical demonstration event for the device on September 16.
