en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 10, the Chubu Regional Development Bureau of Japan's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism issued a tender announcement for the foundation works of the -15m quay wall in the Shinko Tsun area of Shimizu Port, with the construction site located in the Shinko Tsun area of Shimizu Ward, Shizuoka City. The scope of this project is the foundation construction of the -15m deepwater quay wall at Shinko Tsun Wharf, with the contract period running from the signing date to May 10, 2027.

This procurement adopts general competitive bidding and incorporates electronic bidding and electronic contracting systems. Bidding entities may consist of a specific construction joint venture formed by two companies, or a single qualified contractor may participate. Technical materials, technical proposals, and bid documents must be submitted simultaneously. Qualification application materials must be submitted by 16:00 on September 29, the electronic bid submission deadline is 12:00 on November 2, and bid opening is scheduled for 10:00 on December 16.

This foundation works constitutes a new construction package in the continuous construction of the -15m quay wall in the Shinko Tsun area. The Chubu Regional Development Bureau already implemented the main works of the same quay wall in fiscal year 2026, with the relevant contract materials published in June; the Shimizu Port Office also announced the caisson fabrication works for this quay wall in July. On August 31, the bed excavation and related works for the same quay wall entered the public results sequence, and their contract details were announced on September 9. The foundation, main works, caisson fabrication, and bed excavation works thus advance as multiple independent procurement packages.

In the same area, demolition of existing structures, removal of existing revetment backfill, and bed excavation works were also previously carried out. Contract and cost materials for fiscal years 2025–2026 show that the -15m quay wall construction is being advanced continuously through separate packages, rather than awarding all wharf works to a single general contractor at once.

The announcement of September 10 corresponds to a new "foundation works" procurement node, and together with the previously signed main quay wall works, caisson fabrication, and bed excavation works, it belongs to different construction packages under the same quay wall project. The next nodes are qualification review, bidding in November, and bid opening in December, with the contract works scheduled to be implemented no later than May 2027.
