India's Shree Pushkar Unit 5 Dye Plant Commissioned, Adding 6,000 Tons of Annual Capacity
en.Wedoany.com Reported - India's Shree Pushkar Chemicals & Fertilisers has announced the commencement of commercial production at its Unit 5 dye plant located in the Lote Parshuram Industrial Area of Ratnagiri, Maharashtra. This commissioning adds 6,000 tons per year of dye production capacity for the company to meet current dye market demand. The company has disclosed this commissioning milestone to the stock exchanges in accordance with the disclosure requirements of the Securities and Exchange Board of India.
Unit 5 is located at Plot D-10 and serves as an important integrated chemical production base for Shree Pushkar in Ratnagiri. The site had previously established 66,000 tons per year of sulfur chemicals and derivatives capacity and 7,200 tons per year of dye intermediates capacity, with the relevant facilities fully entering commercial production in 2023. With the addition of 6,000 tons per year of dye capacity, Unit 5 further extends from upstream sulfur chemicals and dye intermediates to downstream dye manufacturing.
Shree Pushkar has previously been advancing the expansion of Unit 5 and Unit 6. According to the company's fiscal year 2026 performance materials, as of March 31, its cumulative capital expenditure on multiple ongoing expansion projects and manufacturing facilities amounted to approximately INR 1.89 billion. Ratnagiri Unit 5 and Unit 6 had previously experienced partial delays due to external factors, but the overall projects remain on track. The formal commissioning of the Unit 5 dye plant marks an important milestone in the transition of the relevant expansion projects from the construction phase to the release of additional production capacity.
In terms of existing investment, the early integrated project at Unit 5 involved capital expenditure of approximately INR 1.2048 billion, funded by the company's internal accruals. The site had previously completed the construction of sulfur chemicals, derivatives, and dye intermediates facilities, giving the newly added dye capacity a strong foundation for forward and backward integration and enabling direct linkage with the existing intermediates and chemical raw material systems.
Shree Pushkar is primarily engaged in dyes, dye intermediates, and fertilizers. In recent years, the company has continued to expand the scale of its chemicals business through internal expansion and capacity integration, and has directed new capital expenditure primarily toward production bases such as Ratnagiri and Meghnagar. The addition of 6,000 tons per year of dye capacity at Unit 5 will further enhance the manufacturing scale and degree of integration of its dye segment.
