Wedoany.com Report-Jun 24, Tianjin Brunp TEDA Recycling Technology Co., Ltd. was recently established in the Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area (TEDA), as announced via TEDA’s WeChat account on June 23, 2025. This joint venture between Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL) and a subsidiary of TEDA Investment Holdings Co., Ltd. (TEDA Holdings) has a registered capital of 50 million yuan.
The company aims to develop a comprehensive recycling system for new energy batteries, focusing on integrated processing facilities, carbon asset management, and green electricity solutions. This initiative marks CATL’s first significant investment in TEDA, strengthening the partnership between CATL and TEDA, as well as supporting the strategic collaboration agreement with Tianjin’s Binhai New Area.
Tianjin Brunp TEDA combines the research and development expertise, brand influence, and resource integration capabilities of CATL and TEDA Holdings. The venture is poised to drive advancements in battery recycling across the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and nationwide, contributing to the development of a sustainable, circular economy.
A representative from TEDA stated: “The establishment of Tianjin Brunp TEDA reflects our commitment to fostering green innovation and sustainable development in the region.”
The joint venture is funded by Guangdong Brunp Supply Chain Management Co., Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Brunp Recycling, and Tianjin TEDA Carbon Asset Management Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of TEDA Holdings. Brunp Recycling, controlled by CATL, specializes in battery recycling, resource recovery, and material production. As a leading enterprise in China’s battery recycling sector, Brunp has set industry standards for end-to-end power battery recycling technologies and aims to become a global leader in closed-loop battery recycling systems.
This project aligns with broader efforts to enhance sustainable practices in the new energy sector. By leveraging advanced recycling technologies, Tianjin Brunp TEDA will support the growing demand for environmentally responsible battery management, reinforcing China’s position in the global green energy landscape.
