ZAKH Commissions 600 MW PV Module and BIPV Factory in the UAE

en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 14, ZAKH Renewable Energy and Engineering Manufacturing officially inaugurated its photovoltaic (PV) module and building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV) manufacturing facility in the Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ) in the UAE. Located in the Al Ghail Industrial Zone and covering an area of approximately 30,000 square meters, the project currently has an annual PV module production capacity of 600 MW and can also produce up to 500,000 square meters of customized BIPV curtain wall products annually, supplying markets in the UAE, the GCC, and the broader international market.

The facility integrates R&D, engineering design, customization, manufacturing, installation, and commissioning, primarily producing PV modules suited to high-temperature and dusty environments as well as building-integrated photovoltaic curtain wall solutions. ZAKH's FAERS brand originated from an R&D project launched in Azerbaijan in 2017 and has since developed into an industrialized PV technology platform, focusing on serving commercial, industrial, government, and large-scale ground-mounted PV projects.

According to the company's plans, the existing 600 MW module capacity will continue to expand, with plans to increase it to more than 1.8 GW in the coming years, while further expanding into African, European, and U.S. markets. FAERS's longer-term plan proposes that by 2030, module manufacturing capacity could reach up to 4 GW, forming a supply capability oriented toward regional infrastructure and large-scale PV power plant projects.

In addition to standard PV modules, the factory also focuses on BIPV products, providing customized solutions for commercial buildings, public buildings, and large-scale real estate projects by integrating PV power generation functions into building curtain walls, facades, and other structures. As the UAE advances local manufacturing and its net-zero transition, such localized PV module and BIPV capacity will further supplement the new energy equipment supply chain in the Middle East region.
