Beiouyi's 100,000 t/a POE Plant Completes Acceptance and Achieves Stable Production and Full Sales
en.Wedoany.com Reported - Sulzer announced the completion of the final acceptance of the DEVO devolatilization and purification system for Beiouyi Technology's 100,000 t/a polyolefin elastomer (POE) plant, and the two parties have signed the final acceptance certificate. The plant had previously achieved stable production and full sales in July, with capacity utilization exceeding 100% and product quality qualification rate reaching 100%, and has entered the stage of batch supply to downstream customers.
This 100,000 t/a plant adopts Beiouyi's second-generation high-temperature solution polymerization process, representing the company's scale-up based on its previous first industrial plant of 30,000 t/a. The new production line has re-optimized equipment configuration around polymerization reaction, solvent removal, pelletizing, and automatic control, further improving single-line processing capacity and supporting flexible production of multiple grades. The plant can adjust product specifications according to different applications such as photovoltaic encapsulant films, automotive modification, wires and cables, and film materials.
The DEVO system provided by Sulzer is located in the key post-treatment section after polymerization. After POE completes solution polymerization, the solvent and other volatile components in the material need to be removed before entering the pelletizing process. This system controls residual volatiles in the product through continuous devolatilization while reducing the impact of high-temperature treatment on the material's elasticity, mechanical properties, and optical performance, adapting to 100,000-ton-level continuous production conditions.
Beiouyi's industrial scale-up this time also simultaneously advanced equipment modularization and localization. The company's previous 30,000 t/a plant had completed industrial verification of core sections including polymerization, devolatilization, and pelletizing. The 100,000-ton production line further improves equipment integration and automation levels, and reduces unit product energy consumption and construction costs through process and equipment optimization.
The product side has now entered the stage of large-scale supply. POE features high light transmittance, weather resistance, elasticity, and polyolefin processing performance, and can be used in photovoltaic module encapsulant films, automotive materials, wires and cables, energy storage systems, and high-end film materials. After the 100,000-ton plant was put into operation, Beiouyi has moved from first industrial verification to a larger-scale continuous supply stage and has begun expanding market introduction of different grades of products.
Beiouyi's POE industrialization path previously went through laboratory testing, pilot testing, and the construction of the first 30,000 t/a industrial plant. After the completion of acceptance of the core systems of this 100,000-ton production line, the company has formed a continuous technical route from process development and industrial scale-up to large-scale production, providing an engineering foundation for subsequent additional POE capacity and the construction of regional production bases.
