Wedoany.com Report-Nov. 16, Cadeler, a Denmark-based offshore wind installation firm, has won two significant contracts totaling around €500 million ($578 million) for transporting and installing wind turbines and foundations at a planned offshore wind farm.

Both contracts are contingent on the client’s FID.

The agreements encompass complete transportation and installation services for both components.

Foundation work will begin in early 2029 using one of Cadeler's new A-class vessels. This represents the company's third full-scope foundation installation project.

Turbine installation is slated to start in early 2030 and finish by late that year, employing one of its O-class jack-up vessels.

Both deals depend on the client's final investment decision. If the project does not advance, the contracts could end with a termination fee applied.

Cadeler CEO Mikkel Gleerup said: “This project reinforces Cadeler’s position as a full-service T&I partner in the foundations space and demonstrates that our strategic direction is aligned with current market demands.

“With our fleet of nine wind installation vessels – and three additional under construction – Cadeler continues to deliver the flexibility, efficiency, and innovative solutions required to execute increasingly complex projects and to support the necessary build-out of offshore wind globally.”

Cadeler specializes in offshore wind installation, maintenance, and decommissioning, prioritizing safety and environmental standards.

In September, the company secured a deal with Ocean Winds for transporting and installing turbines at the 390 MW BC-Wind project in Poland's Baltic Sea area.

These latest awards highlight Cadeler's expanding capabilities in handling large-scale offshore projects. The A-class vessels, designed for heavy loads, enable efficient foundation deployment in deeper waters, while O-class units excel in precise turbine placement.

The firm's growing fleet, including recent deliveries like Wind Ally, positions it to meet rising global demand for renewable infrastructure. Foundation campaigns require specialized handling to ensure structural integrity, and Cadeler's track record underscores reliable execution.

Contingent on FID, the timeline allows preparation for advanced turbine models, supporting grid-scale capacity additions. Termination provisions offer risk protection, common in long-lead developments.

Cadeler's focus on full-scope services streamlines client operations, reducing interfaces and timelines. The contracts contribute to its orderbook, bolstering revenue visibility through the decade.

Ongoing vessel construction enhances scalability, accommodating larger components as wind technology evolves. Recent Polish involvement demonstrates European market penetration, complementing activities in the UK and beyond.

This success aligns with industry expansion, where installation bottlenecks limit deployment. Cadeler's hybrid vessel designs provide versatility, switching between tasks to optimize utilization.

Safety protocols and eco-friendly practices remain core, minimizing seabed impacts during operations. The deals affirm strategic investments in next-generation assets, aiding the transition to sustainable power sources worldwide.
