Wedoany.com Report-Nov. 30, FairWind, a Denmark-based wind turbine installation and service provider headquartered in Vejle, has entered into a strategic partnership with Wind Energy Partners (WEP), a Japanese specialist in turbine operations and maintenance.

The agreement follows FairWind’s recent acquisition of Australian wind service company Cosmic Group in October and represents a further step in its Asia-Pacific expansion strategy.

Under the partnership, FairWind’s expertise in onshore and offshore turbine installation, pre-assembly, and service will combine with WEP’s established capabilities in preventative maintenance, blade inspection, and repair. Founded in 2020 and headquartered in Yokohama, WEP operates from eight locations across Japan.

The collaboration provides FairWind with access to WEP’s local network, infrastructure, and regulatory knowledge, while WEP gains from FairWind’s extensive global experience and workforce of over 2,200 technicians active in more than 40 countries.

Matt Crossan, representing FairWind, stated: “This partnership is a significant milestone for FairWind as we expand our footprint in Asia Pacific. Japan’s wind sector is still in its relative infancy when compared to Europe, but with strong government support and increasing investment driving expansion, there is considerable opportunity for FairWind and WEP to support the growing number of onshore and offshore turbines.

“We recognised the clear alignment in our companies’ services and the ability to leverage our capabilities with WEP’s deep local knowledge to support Japan’s expanding wind power industry. With our combined expertise, we look forward to working closely with the WEP team to drive the long-term performance and reliability of wind energy assets across the country.”

Kaoru Saito, representing WEP, stated: “FairWind’s proven track record and commitment to quality align perfectly with WEP’s mission. The alliance reflects the growing demand for specialised wind turbine maintenance services in Japan and we are excited to build on our current relationship to drive greater safety and reliability across our customers assets.”

The partnership is designed to deliver improved service reliability, faster response times, and innovative maintenance solutions tailored to Japan’s rapidly developing wind energy market, supporting both current and future onshore and offshore projects nationwide.
