Wedoany.com Report-Nov. 27, Boeing announced on Wednesday that it has secured a U.S. Army contract valued at nearly $4.7 billion to manufacture AH-64E Apache attack helicopters for international customers. Deliveries under the foreign military sales agreement are scheduled to start in 2028. Poland's purchase marks the biggest single export order for the Apache platform in the programme’s history.
The Polish Ministry of National Defence currently operates eight AH-64E helicopters on a lease basis from the U.S. Army and has already begun training pilots and maintenance personnel on the type, Boeing noted.
More than 1,300 Apache helicopters are in active service worldwide across various armed forces.
On Tuesday, the U.S. Department of Defense confirmed that Boeing was awarded two major contracts totalling over $7 billion. In addition to the $4.7 billion Apache production agreement, the company received a separate $2.4 billion contract from the U.S. Air Force covering Lot 12 production aircraft and related support services.
In recent months, Boeing has completed deliveries of new AH-64E helicopters to several international operators, including the Australian Army, the Indian Army, and the Royal Moroccan Air Force. The latest contract further expands the global fleet of the advanced attack helicopter, which remains in production only at Boeing’s facility in Mesa, Arizona.
The AH-64E version features upgraded sensors, enhanced engine performance, and improved network connectivity, enabling it to meet modern battlefield requirements for armed reconnaissance and precision strike missions.
