Wedoany.com Report-Dec.12, A.P. Moller-Maersk has updated its Port Additionals / Port Dues Export (PAE) charges for all containerised cargo originating from Qatar and bound for worldwide destinations.
Effective 15 December 2025, a uniform PAE of QAR 250 per 40-foot dry container and per 45-foot high-cube dry container will apply across all Qatar export gateways, including Doha, Qapco, Qatalum, Qchem and Umm Saieed.
The carrier stated that the revision aligns cost recovery with current port, regulatory and operational conditions while maintaining service reliability.
Pricing application will follow existing rules:
- Non-SPOT bookings: charges are fixed according to the Price Calculation Date (PCD), which corresponds to the first water-leg departure for non-FMC trades or the last gate-in date for FMC-regulated trades.
- SPOT bookings: charges are locked at the estimated time of departure (ETD) of the first vessel at the moment of booking confirmation.
To improve visibility, Maersk has published indicative rate tables for selected corridors, such as Doha to Algeciras, showing base ocean freight together with applicable origin, destination, risk, emission and equipment-handling surcharges for dry, reefer and special cargo. These indicative levels remain subject to change, with advance notice provided to customers.
The revised PAE is additional to other local charges and contingency surcharges and does not alter or replace tariffs filed with relevant regulatory authorities. For trades subject to the U.S. Shipping Act or China Maritime Regulations, any variation from published tariffs requires incorporation into a duly filed service contract or amendment.
The adjustment reflects Maersk's continuous effort to keep pricing structures in line with fluctuating port-infrastructure, risk and environmental costs while supporting stable network operations for Qatar exporters.
Separately, Maersk confirmed that its vessels will resume transits through the Suez Canal from early December, following the recent agreement with the Suez Canal Authority.
