Spinnova produces fibre from wood pulp or waste, such as leather, textile.

The initiative unites brands, retailers, suppliers, innovators, and funders to create a coordinated network that accelerates the adoption of sustainable textile materials. Fashion for Good serves as a facilitator, connecting emerging technologies with established players and providing expertise in collaborative projects to advance circular solutions in the fashion sector.

Spinnova fibre is produced from wood pulp or various waste streams, including leather, textile, and agricultural residues, using a mechanical process that avoids harmful dissolving chemicals. The resulting material integrates seamlessly with existing textile manufacturing equipment and can be combined with other fibres to form yarns and fabrics.

Applications span diverse products, from apparel to insulation and composite materials. Spinnova has already introduced commercial items such as T-shirts, trousers, jackets, and skis through partnerships with international brands.

Recently, fashion label Armedangels signed a non-binding Letter of Intent with Spinnova to secure future access to the fibre for upcoming collections.

This consortium approach addresses key challenges in scaling innovative fibres by aligning stakeholders across the supply chain. It focuses on developing shared infrastructure, capabilities, and market demand to enable broader implementation.
