Wedoany.com Report on Feb 28th, the Guangxi Cangrong Xunjiang Bridge, designed by China Highway Planning and Design Institute (HPDI) and constructed by China Communications Second Harbor Engineering Co., Ltd. (CCSHEC), officially opened to traffic. Spanning a total length of 1,688 meters, the bridge features a central single-pylon design with a full pylon height of 108.9 meters. Its structure comprises three pylons with main spans of 520 meters + 520 meters each. It is China's first three-pylon spatial cable suspension bridge with a main span exceeding 500 meters and also the world's largest-span single-column three-pylon spatial cable suspension bridge. Its opening seamlessly connects Cangwu County and Teng County, completely eliminating the regional transportation bottleneck and injecting strong momentum for Eastern Guangxi to integrate into the new development pattern of the "Two Bays Linkage".

The construction process of the Cangrong Xunjiang Bridge was full of highlights, setting an exemplary model in ecological protection. Located adjacent to the water source protection area of Wuzhou City, its surroundings are habitats for nationally protected second-class fish species such as the "Sesame Swordfish". The project team abandoned the traditional slurry wall protection drilling method and instead adopted a clean water drilling process, eliminating water pollution at the source. For the anchor construction, the team employed the domestically pioneered "pile-wall combined excavation-free structure", which significantly reduced disturbance to the mountain body from excavation. This approach cumulatively reduced earthwork excavation by 48,000 cubic meters and saved 36,000 cubic meters of concrete, achieving green and low-carbon construction.

In terms of cultural integration, the project team also demonstrated unique ingenuity. During the annual Zhuang ethnic "March 3rd" Song Festival, the project department organized get-togethers where construction workers donned ethnic costumes, engaged in antiphonal singing of folk songs, and performed bamboo pole dances. These activities helped dissolve regional barriers and enhanced team cohesion. This spirit of unity and collaboration fueled the passion for tackling challenges, enabling the technical team to overcome a series of difficulties and transform excellent traditional culture into a driving force for project advancement.

The opening of the Cangrong Xunjiang Bridge holds significant meaning. It is a "road for people's livelihood", freeing residents on both banks from the hardship of detours, allowing them to cross the natural chasm in just 10 minutes. It is also a "logistics channel", closely linking high-quality agricultural production areas with consumer markets, allowing the fragrance of Cangwu's tea and the sweetness of Rong County's fruits to reach countless households. This bridge is a technological milestone, a green model, and more importantly, a bridge of connection that links development opportunities, promotes cultural exchange, and carries the aspirations of the people, supporting the soaring future of the Eastern Guangxi region.
