en.Wedoany.com Reported - Recently, China Harbour received a variation order from the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority for the Tema Port dredging project, with new scope mainly including dredging of the fishing port basin and approach channel, excavation of weathered rock layers in the main port entrance channel, and related supporting works.

Located along the coast of West Africa, Tema Port features complex geological conditions, with extensive distribution of hard rock layers such as calcareous cemented soil, highly weathered and moderately weathered gneiss in the port basin and channel areas. This variation involves excavation of weathered rock layers within a depth range of -14 meters. The project is a key initiative by the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority to advance port upgrades. Upon completion, it will significantly enhance the operational capacity of the Tema Fishing Port and the navigation safety of the main port.

Ghana is an important market for China Harbour in West Africa. Over 17 years of deep engagement, China Harbour has undertaken a series of projects in Ghana, including the Tema New Container Terminal, Tema Old Port Dredging, and the Fishing Port. Among them, the Tema New Container Terminal project won the "ENR 2021 Global Best Port Project Award," making outstanding contributions to helping Ghana become a key trade and investment hub in West Africa and promoting socio-economic development. The successful acquisition of this variation order fully demonstrates the owner's high recognition of China Harbour's technical strength and performance capability, further consolidating China Harbour's core competitive advantage in Ghana's maritime engineering market and effectively enhancing its brand reputation locally.
