Recently, the Department of Natural Resources of Shaanxi Province, China, organized and convened a "15th Five-Year Plan" geological survey and strategic mineral prospecting coordination meeting, aiming to coordinate and advance the compilation of related plans.
During the meeting, the Department of Natural Resources of Shaanxi Province, along with units such as the Xi'an Geological Survey Center of the China Geological Survey and the Shaanxi Geological Survey Institute, discussed the formulation details of Shaanxi Province's "15th Five-Year Plan" geological survey plan and the "Implementation Plan for a New Round of Strategic Action for Mineral Prospecting Breakthroughs (2026–2030)." Participants reached a consensus on key issues such as optimizing the spatial layout of the "four zones" and advancing work intensity in a gradient manner, emphasizing the need to strengthen coordination for scientifically planning the geological survey layout.
The meeting pointed out that the province's natural resources system should proactively report to the Ministry of Natural Resources to seek policy, funding, and technical support, laying the foundation for achieving breakthroughs in mineral prospecting during the "15th Five-Year Plan" period. At the same time, efforts should be accelerated to build a "single map" for the province's geological surveys and to ensure the effective integration of the geological survey plan, the mineral prospecting action plan, and the "Shaanxi Province Mineral Resources Plan (2026–2030)," thereby enhancing the security guarantee capacity for energy and mineral resources and helping Shaanxi play a demonstrative role in the development of the western region.
