Wedoany.com Report on Mar 4th, The Port Authority of A Coruña in Spain has recently initiated the tender process for an external lighting system upgrade project at the Muelle de San Diego operational platform, planning a comprehensive replacement of the existing lighting with LED technology. This project has a budget of approximately 230,000 euros and is expected to be completed within three months, aiming to enhance the port's energy efficiency and sustainability.
The Muelle de San Diego is currently the only operational platform within the Port of A Coruña that has not yet adopted an LED lighting system. According to the plan, the project will install five lighting towers equipped with high-power floodlights to modernize the lighting system. In terms of funding, the project has received support from the European Recovery and Resilience Mechanism, highlighting its positive significance in environmental protection and energy conservation.
The project scope includes not only replacing traditional floodlights with LED lighting equipment but also introducing a supervision, control, and monitoring system for the lighting. Simultaneously, the electrical installations related to the power supply for the lighting towers will undergo a comprehensive update, covering key components such as cables, control panels, and secondary distribution boards.
Through this LED lighting upgrade, the Port Authority of A Coruña expects to reduce the electricity consumption of the dock's lighting facilities by approximately 50%, further advancing the port's green transition and improving operational efficiency.
