en.Wedoany.com Reported - ST Telemedia Global Data Centres (STT GDC) has announced that it has secured an additional 8.8 trillion Indonesian rupiah (approximately $500 million) in financing for its Jakarta data center campus, which will be used to fund the construction of the upcoming STT Jakarta 3 facility.

The funding was obtained through an expanded dual-currency financing arrangement, which includes the company's first green term loan in Indonesia. The financing was arranged by OCBC NISP, HSBC Indonesia, and Bank Negara Indonesia. OCBC and OCBC NISP also served as coordinating banks, sole green coordinators, and facility agents.

The dual-currency structure includes both U.S. dollar and Indonesian rupiah tranches, enhancing financing flexibility to support efficient deployment throughout the campus development lifecycle. The financing arrangement also includes expansion capacity, enabling the company to scale according to client demand without requiring structural renegotiations.

The green loan portion will be used to support the construction of STT Jakarta 3, located in Cikarang, Bekasi. The facility is part of the STT Jakarta campus, which can support over 360 megawatts of IT load capacity upon full completion. STT Jakarta 3 supports both liquid cooling and air-cooled architectures, enabling higher-density next-generation cloud and artificial intelligence workloads. The data center targets a Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) of 1.30 and LEED Gold certification, and will deploy ultra-low Global Warming Potential (GWP) cooling systems.

Nelson Lim, Group CFO of STT GDC, stated that this expanded financing builds upon STT GDC Indonesia's existing secured term loan, revolving credit, and trade finance facilities. Lim noted that this transaction marks another evolution of the company's Indonesia financing platform, enabling it to support the continued expansion of the STT Jakarta campus while introducing the first green loan in the market.

STT GDC Indonesia officially launched STT Jakarta 1 in July 2023, which supports up to 19.5 megawatts of IT capacity. STT GDC was acquired by global investment firm KKR and Singapore Telecommunications (Singtel) in February this year for a total consideration of approximately $5.1 billion.
