Shokhrukh Gulyamov, Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan, stated during the meeting that the technical and economic feasibility study for the railway project has entered an active phase, aiming to provide specific data to help clarify the project's future direction.

According to Eurasianet, participants emphasized the importance of integrating Afghanistan into regional trade networks. Bakhromjon Aloyev, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, noted that for Central Asia, the shortest route to seaports passes through Afghanistan, and the country's stability contributes to regional development and security. Since the fall of 2025, Uzbekistan and Afghanistan have signed agreements worth $5 billion, and bilateral economic cooperation is expanding.
