en.Wedoany.com Reported - U.S. shipbuilder C&C Marine and Repair announced the delivery of the third new inland river pushboat, the "Cabby H. Boone," to Canal Barge Company in New Orleans, one of four vessels in the series.

The pushboat measures 87 feet in length, 33 feet 8 inches in width, and 11 feet 3 inches in depth. The first two vessels in the series, the "Al Sloss" and "Deborah H. Valentine," were delivered earlier. Tony Cibilich, President and Owner of C&C Marine & Repair, stated that the project is progressing well, with performance improving across the board after the delivery of the three vessels, and continuous fine-tuning during construction.

The twin-screw vessels in this series were designed by C&C's in-house engineering team. Each vessel is equipped with two EPA Tier 4-compliant Mitsubishi S12R main engines, supplied by Laborde Products, each rated at 1,260 horsepower at 1,600 rpm. The vessels also feature two Laborde Products generators, each with a capacity of 99 kW. The propulsion system includes Reintjes WAF 665 reduction gears provided by Karl Senner LLC. Steering, alarm, and monitoring systems are supplied by Eagle Control Systems Inc.

Bradley Matte, Sales Representative at Laborde Products, noted that this is a series project where elements are closely linked across vessels, and the selection of engines and generator sets aims to match this approach and ensure construction consistency. The navigation and communication suite for the tugboats is provided by GMENI Marine Electronics and Supply, including Furuno radar, AIS, satellite compass, bridge alarm system, loudspeakers, Standard Horizon VHF radios, and related instruments and sensors. Other equipment includes two Carlisle & Finch 1,000-watt searchlights, two Wintech 40-ton winches, and one Wintech 5-ton vertical capstan.

These vessels are configured to Subchapter M service standards, suitable for inland rivers, canals, and near-coastal routes, with accommodations for eight crew members. In addition to the Canal Barge series, C&C Marine and Repair is building six 2,600-horsepower inland river tugboats for open market sale, with the first scheduled for completion in early Q3 2026. The shipyard is also nearing completion of two Multi Cat workboats and a large cutter suction dredger.
