en.Wedoany.com Reported - Best Power Equipments (India) Pvt Ltd (BPE) has launched an active floor tile called the BPE Active Tile, designed specifically for traditional data centers and telecom infrastructure. With a thickness of just 65 mm, it is the thinnest product of its kind globally. Compared to traditional solutions requiring approximately 450 mm of raised floor height, this tile significantly reduces space occupancy.
A Prabhu, Executive Director of Global Operations Technology at BPE, noted that most traditional data centers were built earlier, and their original IT loads and airflow patterns can no longer meet current demands. As the number of cabinets increases, cable congestion beneath raised floors worsens. The BPE Active Tile effectively cools extremely congested environments that traditional solutions struggle to handle, such as telecom exchanges, regeneration stations, cable routing stations, and POP/POI infrastructure. A Prabhu emphasized that with rising temperatures in India, such solutions are becoming increasingly important.
The product is equipped with glow-in-the-dark identification stickers to provide visibility and guidance in low-light or emergency situations. The Active Tile intelligently manages airflow, directing cold air precisely to where it is needed, addressing hot spots and airflow imbalances caused by mixed high- and low-density cabinets and cable bundling.
To eliminate single points of failure, the BPE Active Tile features multi-fan and dual power supply redundancy, ensuring uninterrupted airflow in mission-critical environments. The tile is made of reinforced fiber, offering lightweight and non-conductive properties, with a uniformly distributed load (UDL) capacity of up to 1500 kg per square meter, reducing floor stress while maintaining structural strength.
Founded in 2000 and headquartered in Noida, BPE has grown into a global multinational corporation with operations in over 20 countries across ASEAN and the Middle East. Its product line includes backup power systems ranging from 650 VA to 8 MW, lithium-ion solutions, intelligent cabinets, IDUs, and comprehensive data center solutions. The launch of the BPE Active Tile further expands the company's portfolio, providing airflow management solutions for both traditional and modern infrastructure.
