Toyota Production Engineering's facility in Georgetown, Kentucky, and Rivian Automotive's plant in Plymouth, Michigan, are early adopters of the machine.

The F870 has a build volume of 1,000 x 610 x 610 mm, a build capacity of 372,000 cubic centimeters, and a maximum diagonal build length of 1,171 mm. Stratasys says this is the longest heated build capacity in its class.

He added that the new platform is designed for real manufacturing environments, offering the company's leading industrial-grade capabilities and greater build capacity at a competitive price, combined with Stratasys' proven materials and production reliability.

The printer launches with nine materials, including FDM Nylon 12CF, black ABS-M30, ASA in six colors, an FDM ABS Draft Gray formulation planned for the third quarter of 2026, and SR-35 soluble support material.

Three interchangeable N-series print heads handle different tasks. The N14 is used for precision tooling and inspection gauges, with layer resolutions of 0.18, 0.25, or 0.33 mm and a standard rate of 25 cubic centimeters per hour. The N20H processes Nylon 12CF tooling and structural fixtures at a 0.25 mm layer thickness and a rate of 21 cubic centimeters per hour. The N25 prints high-volume ASA fixtures and larger prototypes at a 0.33 mm layer thickness and a rate of up to 66 cubic centimeters per hour, roughly twice the rate of the N14.

The F870 maintains a heated build chamber at 95 degrees Celsius and is equipped with a regenerative drying system for material storage. It runs on a three-phase 208-volt, 30-amp power supply and requires no external shop air, relying instead on a built-in vacuum pump.

Four 4,100 cubic centimeter material spools can be switched automatically on a consumables platform shared with the company's F3300 system, supporting up to two weeks of continuous unattended printing. The printer features tool-free print head replacement, MTConnect connectivity for factory integration, and GrabCAD Print software, and will make its public debut at IMTS 2026 in Chicago next week.
