en.Wedoany.com Reported - Unity Metals (ASX:UM1) recently announced that its O'Phlay gold project in Cambodia has identified multiple high-priority drilling targets through geophysical surveys, with a large intrusion-related gold system (IRGS) target corridor clearly delineated.

O'Phlay is located approximately 60 kilometers east of Unity's flagship Ngot project, which is adjacent to Emerald Resources' (ASX:EMR) Okvau gold mine in Cambodia. Although O'Phlay has a history of historical open-pit and underground mining activities, modern exploration work has been very limited.

Unity's latest geophysical survey found that the signal characteristics match the IRGS mineralization pattern. This result enhances the company's assessment of O'Phlay's geological setting, indicating that the project shares key geological parameters with Ngot, Okvau, and other IRGS deposits in the region. Unity has previously noted the geological similarities between Ngot and Okvau, including a 2-kilometer-long soil gold anomaly zone extending to the project boundary. IRGS deposits typically have the potential to host large-tonnage gold systems, making them particularly attractive in underexplored areas such as eastern Cambodia.

The priority targets identified this time primarily come from the gradient array induced polarization (GAIP) survey. The survey delineated multiple chargeability anomalies, which are associated with sulfides exposed in historical open pits, quartz veins, and interpreted mineralized structures. The anomalous areas coincide with locations that previously returned strongly anomalous rock chip results, including one sample containing 7.0 g/t gold, 322 g/t silver, and 695 g/t antimony. Historical mining records indicate that mineralization extends below the surface.

At the Camp Prospect target, the survey defined two parallel north-south trending chargeability anomalies with a total strike length exceeding 1.8 kilometers. These anomalies remain open in both strike and depth directions, forming a series of high-priority drilling targets. Additionally, new LiDAR and magnetic surveys identified structural features interpreted to control the distribution of gold mineralization across the project area, increasing confidence in exploration efforts.

Unity founder and Managing Director Craig Mackay stated that the company is particularly excited about the GAIP survey results and the significant chargeability anomalies discovered east of Camp Prospect. He noted that these anomalies collectively extend over 1.8 kilometers and are directly associated with gold-bearing quartz-sulfide vein networks exposed in historical open pits, as well as strongly anomalous gold and arsenic results from previous soil and rock chip sampling. Unity has identified both anomalies as direct high-priority drilling targets and is mobilizing a diamond drill rig to O'Phlay, planning to begin testing these areas this quarter.

Unity is currently integrating the geophysical survey dataset with geological mapping and geochemical results in preparation for the upcoming 2,500-meter diamond drilling campaign. The company plans to drill up to 18 holes, initially focusing on testing high-priority GAIP chargeability anomalies, with first results expected in the September quarter.
